Banoffee pie is one of the creations of the English
The banoffee (banana and toffee = banoffee) pie is one of the creations of the English, although we could also believe that it is an American thing... Banana and caramel lovers should not look any further, but fall for it!
Ingredients for the filling
- 2 bananas
- 400 ml of whipped cream
- ½ bar of dark chocolate
Ingredients for the base
- 400 g of sweet biscuits
- 1 pinch of salt
- 200 g of butter
Ingredients for caramel
All you need is our Banoffe Pie Caramel Sauce!
Make it like this!
For the base of the banoffee pie, put the biscuits and salt in a food processor and crush them very finely. Add the melted butter and continue to chop until completely combined. In a 20 cm cake tin, smooth it so that it is pressed onto the wall in any way you like, the entire base is approx. 5 mm thick. Put it in the fridge and let it set.
Slice the bananas and spread the caramel over them. Whip the ice-cold whipped cream with a food processor or whisk, then put it in a piping bag and press it onto the top of the cake. With the dark chocolate taken out of the fridge, we either grate it, or we make chocolate chips with a knife, tilting the edge slightly and pulling it towards us, and sprinkle it with this. Place in the refrigerator until completely cooled.
